How do i know if i have an sti?
You usually cannot tell by looking or by how you feel, because most infections cause no symptoms at all. The only reliable way to know is testing — usually a urine sample or a swab, which is quick and usually painless.
What this does and does not tell you
This is general information, not a diagnosis. Only a clinician can examine you, take your history and run tests. The same symptom has different causes in different people.
If something is sudden, severe, or getting worse quickly, get medical advice rather than reading on.
