Safety & consent

What if i freeze and cant say no?

  • Short answer
  • Reading level 13-15
  • Freezing is a response the body can produce, and it is not consent. You do not owe anyone a refusal in the moment. What matters is that you are believed afterwards, and that help is available whenever you are ready to ask for it.

What this does and does not tell you

This is general information, not a diagnosis. Only a clinician can examine you, take your history and run tests. The same symptom has different causes in different people.

If something is sudden, severe, or getting worse quickly, get medical advice rather than reading on.
